Realised products:
In the frame of a tender initiated by the Ministry of Education (ME), and
based on a contract concluded between the Ministry of Education and the
CARI HAS, a research project titled Development of software tools for
modelling decision making and environmental problems based on GIS databases
was started at the Laboratory and Department of Operations Research and
Decision Systems. The aim is to further develop the program system and
methodology for environmental modelling and decision making support based
on a common application od decision and environmental models with GIS tools.
Following the elaboration and accomplishment of environmental and decision
models for analysing phenomena and processes, the program system makes
preparing thematic maps in compliance with the claims possible, from the
generated and the available databases. The methodology and the software
based on it can help decision makers in solving environmental problems
that cannot be managed sufficiently for the time being, furthermore, in
making adequate decisions regarding the implementation of industrial, commercial,
servicing, etc projects.
Tasks to be performed in the frame of the project:

planning of an information system regarding the environment: defining datastructures
and processes per elements of the environment;

planning of a decision support system: defining datastructures, processes
regarding different decision problems;

elaboration of the following models for the environmental information system
as per follows:

air: elaboration of models regarding stacks, line-sources and surface-sources,
visualisation;

water: elaboration of models regarding ground water and elaboration ofmodels
regarding surface waters;
-
as decision support system software: elaboration of individual decision
models, group decision models, sensitivity analysis, visualisation;
-
test of of environmental information system completion of the documentation
in accordance with the quality ensurance stipulations;
-
test of the decision support system, completion of documentation.
